We have 5 surprise babies! They’re just a few weeks early, normally calving starts the first of October. He just laid there and let me take photos, then jumped  up and high tailed it back to mom.

I’m not sure if I’ll be at the market next week….but I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market tomorrow with:

Fresh chestnuts, the first of the hibiscus roselles (for tea), muscadine grapes, Rosa Bianca Italian eggplant, biquinho hot peppers, sweet banana peppers, jalepenos, bell peppers, carola and hard red winter wheat.  I’ll have our 100% grass fed & grass finished black Angus beef in these cuts:

filet, NY Strip steaks, sirloin steaks, flap steak, philly steak, cube steak, brisket, ground beef, stew beef, short ribs, osso bucco, sirloin tip roast, eye of round roast, boneless chuck roast, soup bones. Hot dogs are not back yet.

Ground beef special this weekend – Buy 5 lbs, get 1 lb free.

Bulk pricing on our beef: quarters, halves and wholes – $3.50 lb hang weight plus the cost of processing (.85/lb), and almost half-quarters – not quite 1/8 of a cow (60 lbs) for $466. This is a great savings over the regular price you pay per piece, but quarters, halves and wholes are still the best deal.

See you tomorrow!
