I’ve been getting inquiries about when I’ll have wheat again, here’s an update! That’s it right there, hard red winter wheat. Looks great.
I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market tomorrow ’til 1.
I have EVEN MORE lettuce, beet greens, LOADS of curly kale & chard, red and gold beets, parsley bunches, a little red kale and some plants in 4″ pots: chamomile (for tea), parsley and sage. I’ll have some tomato plants next week then more tomato plants in the coming weeks, along with other herbs, etc.

off he goes to rake hay. Reminds me of the fair coming to town 🙂
Those ferris wheelie things lower down to rake the hay into windrows.
The windrows are a continuous circle spiraling inward and I used to love to gallop them like a racetrack…until I saw that my trusty steed would somehow always poop on the actual hay row. Oops.
It’s not warm enough to get this dry, so it’s being baled wet and wrapped in plastic for this winter’s baleage, as we speak.
…meanwhile…
I couldn’t resist. It’s really running and I love that sound. Soon the creek will dry up for the summer and it’ll be hot as blazes. This is my window!!!!
This is also why I didn’t pre-bunch much of my greens and I’ll probably be in the weeds tomorrow haha. I apologize in advance.
