The end of the eggplant, if it frosts.
I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers’ Market tomorrow with:
baby turmeric, the last of the Khing Yai ginger, arugula, beet greens, sage, chives, radishes, the last of the potatoes, red & white onions, eggplant, purple broccoli greens, a little red russian kale, hard red winter wheat.
Our Animal Welfare Approved, Certified Grassfed Angus beef: Andouille sausage, sliced pastrami, hot dogs, and corned beef all made from our Angus beef with no added nitrates or nitrites. Ground beef, stew meat, philly steak, cube steak, oso bucco, short ribs, brisket, liver, soup bones, bone-in chuck, sirloin tip roast, eye of round, sirloin steaks, NY Strips, ribeyes, filets, skirt, flat irons.
One of the bulls peeking around the fence post. Those are his pretty girls. Lucky fellow!
Gorgeous baby turmeric! It’s in the ginger family and is highly anti-inflammatory. My favorite way to use it is to grate into broth with some ginger and garlic, a squeeze of lime, chopped cabbage and carrots and half an avocado. And sometimes those really thin rice noodles. A DELICIOUS lunch. The leaves can be used to wrap fish for steaming.

I’m spinnin’the hits!! Ok… not the hits, just the beet greens.
Bone-in chuck roasts, for beef stew with red wine and herbs.
See you tomorrow!
