Last Sunday we went riding at H Cooper Black in South Carolina. I had so much fun!! We planned our route for a 1.5 hour ride but missed a turn and ended up riding 3.5 hours. Death to the knees.

I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market tomorrow yay!! with kale, leeks, orange and purple sweet potatoes. I’ve never been so happy to pick some kale before.

I’ll have our 100% grass fed & grass finished, Animal Welfare Approved Angus beef in these cuts: ground, stew, philly steak, cube steak, ribeyes, NY Strip, sirloin steak, flat iron, skirt, brisket, shoulder roast, boneless chuck roast, sirloin tip roast, eye of round roasts, liver.

Beer brats, andouille sausage, hot dogs (skinny and quarter pounder), sliced corned beef, sliced pastrami and sliced bologna made from our 100% grass fed Angus beef, no added nitrates or nitrites.

Ground beef special – Buy 5, Get 1 free.

Bulk pricing on our beef: quarters, halves and wholes – $3.50 lb hang weight plus the cost of processing.

Shane has been dragging fallen trees out of the woods all winter – there are so many! The woodstove heats our house and the greenhouse, and it’s time to start planting in the greenhouse so I got it cleaned up and turned the heat on. Time for a big load of wood.

Yes, I am wearing pink crocks and socks. Don’t judge me. If you lived out in the country, deep in the woods and spent all your time alone with just plants and bugs you’d Dress Crazy 10 Ways too.

So that is a soil block maker. This year I’m doing soil blocks for growing my transplants instead of using the plastic inserts. I’m so sick of dealing with those. Carl tricked me into doing the blocks haha. He showed me how to make them, I did a test run that was uhhhhh …passable,  and I borrowed his blocker to start onion seeds. I did 47 trays on Monday and Tuesday. It’s heavy and a lot more work and it’s kicking my butt.  I hope I don’t get abnormally large, man-style biceps! And traps! Ugh.

Check out Josie’s crazy grin 🙂 Are you threatening me??

I’m super excited to see you guys tomorrow!

No market for me this week either :(

I know I said I was coming, and now I know not to say stuff like that.

I thought I would have enough veggies to sell to make the trip, but like Olivia Newton John said,

“You  never know what the future holds…” – So right. 🙂

I hope you have a great weekend and I also hope to see you all again at the market soon!!

So…

that happened 🙁

Looking pretty sad in the hoops after nearly a week of single digits. I’ve watered everything and some stuff is perking up. I need to cut off all the dead leaves and see what lives. The curly kale fared the best by far.

Yikes.  Red kale might come back but I think the chard has bit the dust.

I’ll be there next week with whatever greens I can muster, carrots, leeks, sweet potatoes, beef and I’m not sure what else, but I pulled something in my back so picking is out for this week anyway, and it’s just starting to feel better so I don’t want to do anything to cause a setback or I won’t be able to pick next week.

I hope to see you then! I miss you guys! Have a great weekend 🙂

P.S. I’ve been doing this very gentle + easy 15 minute yoga for lower back pain every day and it’s helped a ton <3
